About DAGpedia

Use cases

How researchers, reviewers, and educators can use DAGpedia.

Check adjustment sets

Open a DAG page and inspect the graph with dagitty.js-derived metadata. Compare the proposed adjustment set against your own identification strategy before running analyses.

Make hypotheses explicit

Use published DAGs as templates: fork the structure, document which edges you keep or drop, and cite edge-level evidence. DAGpedia entries are meant to travel across papers and contexts with clear changelogs in git.

Teach causal inference

Instructors can link to stable URLs instead of redrawing the same textbook DAG each semester. Narrative sections document operationalization choices that slides often omit.

Reuse and adapt

Under CC BY 4.0, you may adapt diagrams with attribution. Copy the DAGitty block into R or DAGitty desktop tools for further queries.

Contribute back

When you extend a graph for a new population or exposure definition, consider opening a pull request so the community benefits from your edge rationale and citations. See How to contribute.
